Fireplace Mornings and Mapping Out My Life

Things that make me happy, even on a Monday:

1. Winter mornings that call for a fire in the fireplace I do not have.

2. Dreaming of living in Paris. Croissants and the gardens in springtime and walks along the Seine and people-watching in cafes.

3. Country music. I’m turning into a good little Texas girl.

4. Mapping out where I want my life to go. It makes me focus on the important things. It also makes me feel like I can do anything if I work hard enough.

5. Pajamas! I'll wear them all day if I can. So snuggly and relaxing!

Happy Monday, everyone! Anyone else been mapping out your life recently?

  3. I haven't been mapping out my life, but I have been considering the direction it's going in. I think I may need to sit down and draw up a map.

  5. Country music is something this Midwestern girl misses terribly...the NYC metro area has no country station.

  7. It IS a fireplace type of day! Paris sounds good too. Like to combine the two.

  8. I swear, if my book is ever published, I'm going to buy the nicest pajamas and lie around writing in them all day :)

  9. I love pajamas! They are my second favorite thing, next to candles! Wait, third...because coffee is first! I would wear them everywhere if I could. When I was in my early 20s, I had a group of friends and we called ourselves The Pajama Club. We would pick a movie that was coming out Friday night and go to the midnight showing - in our pajamas! It was so much fun! I miss those days.

Mapping is good. Setting goals really helps. But remember to be flexible. Just because you end up far off the trail doesn't mean you can't find your way back or that it isn't really a shortcut to where you wanted to be!

  12. I WISH I had a fireplace! And I love Paris too- my sister lived in London and they would just pop over to Paris for the weekend. Sigh...and I wear my pajamas all day when I'm at home ;p

  14. Sorry for deleting the above comment!

What I meant to say was, I would wear soft, snuggly pajamas all day if I could.

Also, I too wish I had a fireplace.

  15. I love fireplaces. Might have to visit my aunt again just to experience it. Life is an ever changing landscape, I forgo the map and replace it with determination. :)

  16. My wife and I have been talking about moving to France someday, living in a small ancient village somewhere close enough to Paris that we can visit whenever we want. It's just a dream right now, but you never know. Of course, one of us would have to learn French first, I suppose.

Also, I got an award and I've passed it on to you. It's called the Go Away, I'm Writing Award. It's a picture of a coffee cup. You can find it at my blog here.

  17. Life-mapping is an obsessive habit of mine :D Seriously, I do like taking a good, hard look at life, at where I've been and where I want to go. This year looks like it's shaping up to be a doozy (and I mean that in a good way!)

Hope you get your dream of Paris living one day. My husband and I plan to be British. Hopefully soon. If it all works out, we'll be neighbors :D
