Deep Fried Cheesecake and Christmas Music

Things that make me happy, even on a Monday:

1. The rodeo cookoff I went to on Saturday. Amazing barbeque, miles of carnival rides, and deep fried cheesecake (yes, really). SOOO much fun.

2. The Oscars! Did anyone else love Jennifer Lawrence’s whole look? And Cate Blanchett’s quirky dress looked stunning to me.

3. Chocolate chips. Perfect in cookies and brownies and by the handful all on their own.

4. Christmas music. Yep, I’ve already started listening to it again. What can I say, it makes me happy!

5. Everyone's book recommendations from Friday. Thank you all so much! I have some great new books to check out.

Happy Monday, everyone! Anything making you happy this week?

  3. The rodeo sounds/looks like it was a blast! Happy things, happy things.. uh, I have almost finished this box of cookies so now I will be forced to not eat junk food. And after thinking I'd like to read some short stories (research), a blog has pointed me in the right direction to a couple free SF/F ones online. Huzzah for serendipity.

  21. I don't know exactly what those goodies are in your first picture, but anything called "Sweet Cheeks" has got to be yummy!

I tried a deep fried Mars bar once at a fair. It was disgustingly good, but I felt sick for about 3 days afterward... I'm glad I tried it though, just because now I can say I did.
