1. The rodeo cookoff I went to on Saturday. Amazing barbeque, miles of carnival rides, and deep fried cheesecake (yes, really). SOOO much fun.
2. The Oscars! Did anyone else love Jennifer Lawrence’s whole look? And Cate Blanchett’s quirky dress looked stunning to me.
3. Chocolate chips. Perfect in cookies and brownies and by the handful all on their own.
4. Christmas music. Yep, I’ve already started listening to it again. What can I say, it makes me happy!
5. Everyone's book recommendations from Friday. Thank you all so much! I have some great new books to check out.

Deep fried cheesecake is a heart attack just waiting to happen. That's probably why it tastes like freaking heaven!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe rodeo sounds/looks like it was a blast! Happy things, happy things.. uh, I have almost finished this box of cookies so now I will be forced to not eat junk food. And after thinking I'd like to read some short stories (research), a blog has pointed me in the right direction to a couple free SF/F ones online. Huzzah for serendipity.

I'm happy today because my Political Science class got cancelled so I slept in a couple hours! Yay! ;)
I'm thinking of deep fried camembert cheese, which is nice and gooey on the inside. Maybe I should try the cheesecake next! ;-)

Wow - they can deep fry anything nowadays!! I watched an ep of Top Chef where someone deepfried mayonnaise. Yeah. :)

ReplyDeleteI tried a deep fried Mars bar once at a fair. It was disgustingly good, but I felt sick for about 3 days afterward... I'm glad I tried it though, just because now I can say I did.
I know a lot of people sing the praises of fried Oreos and cheesecake and yet it's something I'm skeeeptical about trying. Carnival rides though? So much fun!
