1. I don’t really know how this happened, but I still haven’t seen the last Harry Potter movie. Even though I’m obsessed with Harry Potter. I have a serious problem with seeing the end of things (series finales, final books in a series). I’d rather just avoid endings altogether, thankyouverymuch.
2. Speaking of, do you think J.K. Rowling will ever write more Harry Potter books? About his kids or something? Or are you happy with the way she wrapped things up?
3. I’m so excited for this weekend! College football and the Emmys and finally finishing up my query letter—it’s going to be an awesome weekend.
4. As for the Emmys, if Friday Night Lights doesn’t win everything it’s nominated for, I’m going to be SO MAD.
5. It’s cooled down to the low 90s here, which has everyone excited. Seriously. Now if we would only get rain…
Happy weekend, everyone! Anyone have any fun weekend plans?

i haven't watched the last HP movie either. in fact, i'm trying to avoid it as much as possible--so much that i've decided that first i'm going to rebuy all the seven books (because the copies i have are pirated blehhh) which will take a long time, due to my perpetually broke-student condition, and then i will read all the books and watch all the movies and then i'll say goodbye.
ReplyDeleteman, i really wish ms. rowling would publish something already! right?!
1. Can't wait for it to come out on video! Then you can catch up!!! I planned months and months beforehand for the end. Still wasn't ready. Still cried like a little girl. SO GOOD!
ReplyDelete2. I like how she ended it, though a new set of students and experiences would be a whole lot of fun. I'll always have my heart set on attending Hogwarts with the snowy treetops!
3. Woohooo!!!! So looking forward to the Emmys! I'm sure football will be involved somehow - my hubby does love it after all! YAY FOR FINISHING YOUR QUERY! HOLY HECK GIRL I'M IMPRESSED!!!
4. GOOD LUCK TO FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!
5. I know! Walking outside this morning I was in absolute heaven! Looks like the chance of rain is headed our way, and right now that's better than previous weeks!!!
PS - I'm going to see Paula Deen this weekend! AGH! I'm freaking out cuz I'm so excited!
O you must see it. It's so good.
ReplyDeleteBut I can related. I bought Mockingjay the day it came out and still haven't read it.
Happy weekend :)
My entire family (which includes my husband) went to see the final HP movie. Some guy in the front row fell asleep (OMG!!! How could he even do that?) and started snoring. Loudly. Some teens a few rows back started chucking M&Ms (or something like that) at him. Everyone started laughing. He woke up for a few minutes then went back to sleep. And started snoring again!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think she will write more books. Too much pressure.
Good luck with the query. :D
Just watching some football on Sunday and planning a possible blog event thing-er for October. Ooh, mysterious! Yay for the query letter nearing completion; will you be sharing on the blog?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE FNL, they seriously better win something!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, resting without having to chase my kids around to do homework sound pretty damn good after this week LOL! I plan to read, relax and enjoy some dinners with my family.
ReplyDelete#1, really? I thought it was amazing. I can't wait to see it again. :)
ReplyDelete#2, I'm torn on this. Part of me never wants the series to really end but part of me was very satisfied where she left it. I think whatever she writes will be incredible.
#5. I'm glad you are getting some cooler temps. It is in the 50 and 60s here in MN. On the day that it got cool though I thought about sending some cooler air to warm places like Texas.
ReplyDeleteYes. Friday Night Lights needs to win. Such a good show.
I saw HP but I meant to see it again. I think I was waiting for it to come to the little retro $2 theater near me but it hasn't yet.
Nooo how have you not seen the last HP movie, it is SO good and so sad. I think I cried for most of it!
ReplyDeleteOMG, you must see HP! It is sad for it to come to an end, but it's really good. I am unsure if she will write in the same world she's created, or start something brand new... I'd like to see brand new.
ReplyDeleteYay for cooler weather. I Love FNL and good luck with your query letter. I always struggle with those. And about HP...Hm. I liked the ending minus the epilogue. Two happy-happy for me.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend! Sounds like you've got a good one in store. I plan to RELAX. Hopefully.
ReplyDeleteI think that's it for the HP books to be honest. I'm intrigued to see what she'll write next though - I can't see her ever shaking Harry off. I watched Who Do You Think You Are featuring JK and she kept mentioning the HP gang. It was quite funny really.
ReplyDeleteI actually HOPE that's it for the Harry Potter books. I love them, and I love them just how they are! :)
ReplyDeleteI liked the last movie, but I wish they hadn't changed a few things. I don't think she'll write anymore HP books. After all, whose story would be as epic as Harry's?
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good weekend!
Ah, I agree with Theresa. I think JK Rowling has ended it well too.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is going well too! Happy writing this coming week! ;-)
1. Meredith! You must watch the last movie!!
ReplyDelete2. I hope she publishes something else. I don't even care if it's HP related, I just want more books by her on my bookshelf (although it would be amazing to read about Harry's kids)
Have a nice week! :)
I'm happy with the way J.K. Rowling wrapped things up, except with Umbridge, of course. That woman was evil. Is it bad that I wanted to see her suffer more?
