Random Thoughts: Online Shopping and Weekend Fun

1. Yay for online shopping! That’s making my Christmas shopping this year so much easier. I get to avoid the perpetually crowded mall!

2. I love watching Sunday morning talk shows about politics. I always come away from them feeling smarter.

3. I’ve started frequenting the adult fiction & literature section of the bookstore and library, instead of the YA section. My new protagonist is older, and I want to read more books about characters my age—that’s what I’m leaning toward now, in any case. If anyone has a recommendation, I’d love that!

4. Stina Lindenblatt has been doing a wonderful blog series about what to give writers for Christmas (CLICK HERE to visit her blog). Considering I never have any idea what to ask for, I’m loving her recommendations!

5. It’s going to be a weekend of writing and hot chocolate and yummy Italian food for me! I’m so excited. :)

Happy Friday, everyone! Anyone have any fun weekend plans?

  1. I'm asking for recommendations for books of older MC's, too. It's hard to find characters in the 18-21 age group in YA.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Hot chocolate and Italian food! Trade Italian for Greek and that's the weekend I'm hoping to have :) I've been down with a horrible cold all this week and my appetite is just now coming back.

I didn't do any online shopping, but I did shop early in the morning to avoid crowds.

  5. Now that sounds like an amazing weekend.

OMG I would be so lost without online Christmas shopping.

  6. Watching Politics also makes me feel smarter for some reason! And I gave you a couple of awards over at my blog. Stop by and pick them up!

  7. ooooh Italian food! My mom actually JUST texted me asking what I thought about Italian food for Christmas this year. :)

I haven't read many adult books lately, but I ADORED The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen. It's magical realism (which I love, but it's not for everyone) and I'm pretty sure the characters were our age.

  10. I remember when my parents were paranoid about online shopping. Now that I'm older and have a credit card, it's how I buy my stuff (except for groceries and clothes).

  11. I've done some online shopping, but mostly I've braved the weather and gone before the crowds pile up.

Thanks for the linky love. Now if only I could figure out what to get my husband for Christmas.

  13. Your weekend sounds lovely! Mine consisted of going out for dinner on Friday, mince pies and The Muppet Christmas Carol last night and, uh, there might be football this evening? So not bad generally.
