So, I've been reading several books by bloggers recently, and I wanted to dedicate a few Wednesday posts to reviewing their amazing books. Ali Cross is one of the nicest, most genuine bloggers I've come across, and her book, BECOME, is such a fantastic read, I can't even tell you. But I'll try:
Desolation—she goes by “Desi”—is the daughter of Lucifer, sent to Earth to encourage a soul down the road to Hell. Haunted by memories of her first visit to Earth, when she indirectly caused the death of a teenage boy, Desi desperately tries to resist Becoming—manifesting into the demon her father believes she was born to be. But as she befriends the girl she’s supposed to corrupt and feels drawn to the boy she knows from random memories of another life, Desi begins to realize that she might have more control over her future than she once thought.
This story pulled me in from the beginning and never let me go. I loved Desi’s voice—even though she’s the daughter of Lucifer, she’s incredibly relatable as a teenager. Like most of them, she’s trying to find out who she is and who she wants to be, and that struggle translates to the contemporary world. Ali Cross has created a world amidst our own world that will leave you wanting more.

ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting little concept there! And the whole time I was rading your review I kept thinking that I had a friend named Desi once, then I got uncomfortable thinking I might be a grown up version of the girl who was supposed to be corrupted...totally off the point.
ReplyDeleteAs far as you, I think it's awesome, M, that you're giving a little love to the books of bloggers you enjoy. Pay it forward, girl. :D
