I'm continuing my Wednesday series of reviewing amazing books by bloggers I know and adore. Jennifer Hillier is one of the sweetest, funniest bloggers out there. And her book scared the living daylights out of me. :)
Dr. Sheila Tao, professor of psychology, is about to marry her boyfriend, but when she breaks off her affair with her grad student, Ethan, she becomes his target. He begins invading her life, and soon, all of her secrets start spilling out.
The tension in this story got to me right away. It’s one of those books that makes you hold your breath the whole way through, keeps you wondering what’s going to happen next. I loved the complexity of the characters, too. These aren’t your stereotypical heroes and villains, and that made them more real to me. Creep has definitely convinced me that I need to read more thrillers—this was so much fun!

I have this one in my TBR pile right now. Thanks for reminding me!
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer! I got her book for Christmas and it's another on my list:)
ReplyDeleteThis one actually does sound really good. I've officially added it to my Goodreads "To be read" pile, so I don't forget the next time I order a new wave of ebooks!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Wow- the storyline sounds like an adrenaline rush but I got a ball of anxiety in my stomach just reading the premise. lol. I guess you have to be in the mood for that kind of read.
ReplyDeleteI finally got my hands on Creep, and your review has made me even more excited to actually read it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this yet, but want to. Thanks for reminding me to get on it!
ReplyDeleteWow. I usually prefer the ghost and monster types of creep because real-life examples are truly terrifying! This was a great review and I think I'll wander over and check it out on her site!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation!
Jen
Oooh this does sound fun! I don't normally read stalker-thrillers, but I need to start reading new things and this seems like a great way to start :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love scary stories. And what an awesome title!
ReplyDeleteWow. Sounds chilling.
ReplyDeleteMan, I have to go back to reading this. I started it, but then we went away on vacation and I took a book with me instead (Creep is on my eReader) because of the airline policy of not allowing passengers to use electronic devices for like 15 minutes. And then I forgot I was reading the book. Ooops!
ReplyDeleteI read Creep last year and thought it was amazing. I look forward to Jennifer's 2nd book.
ReplyDeleteI seriously loved this book, too. And I'd been reading Jennifer's blog way before CREEP came out, so the whole time I kept thinking, "How does someone so nice write something so sinister and deliciously dark??"
ReplyDeleteGreat book!
OOooooo,I've heard about this book. THX!
ReplyDeleteI just saw this now! Thank you so much for the shout out, I really appreciate it, Meredith! And so glad you enjoyed the book. :)
ReplyDeleteComplex characters can make even a commonplace read into an excellent one! This sounds great, thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Juju, this one sounds so chilling. I'll have to check it out,
