1. This squirrel. It sits outside the pecan place not far out of Austin, where they sell all different kinds of pecans and pecan products--pretty much everything you can think of remotely related to pecans. How could you pass this squirrel up?
2. The final Harry Potter movie. I finally watched it! What a heartbreaking, beautiful film. It was everything I could have wanted it to be.
3. Truffle mac n’ cheese. Comfort food with a twist—I love it.
4. Driving at night and hearing a new song on the radio that you know you’re going to be playing on repeat as soon as you get home.
5. Skittles. I can seriously eat whole bags of them. And then I crash from the sugar.
Happy Monday, everyone! Anything making you happy this week?

I have Wednesday to myself and there is a cool new spot I discovered for writing - the thought of getting some writing done there with a nice cup of tea is really bringing a smile to my face! And Peanut Butter, Banana and Flaxseed Cookies with vegan chocolate chips - yummy and wholesome. I feel better just eating one! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMaking me happy: Knowing I'm going to be able to see one of my favourite people multiple times this month. The totally inspiring podcasts from Gala Darling being on sale: I've already listened to and loved one. Finally reading the first National Geographic of my subscription and enjoying it; now I'm actually looking forward to reading the second one. Having an epiphany about a story idea that means fun research. To the mythology books!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, making me happy today. The coffee in my hand and the fact that the whole house is still asleep:) I love the early morning quiet!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you too! Great list as usual :-) That squirrel alone is enough to make me smile. And speaking of Austin, I just bought a book (AUSTENTATIOUS) that takes place in Austin and is about Austen-y (as in Jane) stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh Harry Potter! I did love the last movie, so good.
ReplyDeleteI also love that Squirrel - so funny!
Ugh! We're so alike. I'm ADDICTED to skittles. Haven't had them in a while, buying a bag is a dangerous thing so I just avoid the candy isle. =/ And HP! AND that huge squirrel! Love him! Happy Monday to you!
ReplyDeletethat is a great squirrel. :D And yay for finding new songs you love. I love that, too. Not so much the skittles. :D <3
ReplyDeleteHow can anyone not like the squirrel? Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen the last HP, but I'm dying to! Everyone seems to share your opinion on it :)
ReplyDeleteI've been eating Sprees lately--like Skittles but bigger!
ReplyDeleteI loved that Harry Potter too. It was wonderful.
I love giant tacky sculptures. I always have to pose with them.
ReplyDeleteOh the final Harry Potter was SO good. I rewatched that ending over and over.
Got a recipe for this marvelous mac and cheese you speak of?
You given me the cravings! Sigh... now I have to go out and buy skittles, and maybe rewatch the new harry potter film while eating them. lol well at least now I know how I'm spending my Monday night :)
ReplyDeletehow on earth have you JUST now watched HP?!?! It was amazing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Skittles! And what's the new song???
I love truffle mac n' cheese!! There's a restaurant in town that makes it, and they call it 'crack in a crock'. It is addictive.
ReplyDeleteI have never had truffle mac n cheese, but I'm telling you, I want it now:)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you, I couldn't pass that squirrel up. No way!
Truffle mac n cheese sounds yummy. Where can I get some????
ReplyDeleteAww, *pets squirrel*. HP7(2) was GREAT, definitely!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a massive squirrel!
ReplyDeleteBeing back in London and getting back to writing is making me very happy indeed.
Deathly Hallows Part 2 is awesome, isn't it? I can't believe you hadn't watched it yet - but then I'm a geek who went to see it the day it released (sigh) :-)
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel is awesome.
I haven't had Skittles in ages.
ReplyDeleteThe last Harry Potter movie makes me happy and sad all rolled into one. I love it so much.
And that squirrel is seriously delightful.
For me, it's peanut M&Ms. So good! Right now, having a student teacher is making me happy--more time to write. :)
ReplyDeleteI love skittles! Makes me want to buy a bag...
ReplyDeleteMy friend got engaged, so that's made me very happy!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed you were able to wait so long to watch the last Harry Potter! I made it all of 8 hours after it was released. It was pretty awesome, though, have to agree on that.
I love all the fun things on your list...except, while I don't hate Skittles, they are one of th last candies I'd choose. I like chocolate and/or caramel. In fact, I'd kill for a Skor bar right now. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that big crazy squirrel.
