Random Musings: Call Me Maybe and Hating Typos

1. I'm deep in the polishing stage of revision these days, making sure every word is perfect, that every bit of dialogue sounds at least somewhat realistic, that there are absolutely no typos. Typos are the WORST.

2. I'm reading Rival by Sara Bennett Wealer, and I'm loving it! It's about two girls in high school choir who used to be friends but are now sworn enemies, and both characters are complex and compelling. I'll have to do a connection post on this book soon, because that story reminds me of so many good songs.

3. Speaking of songs, is anyone else as obsessed with "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen as I am? Because I cannot stop singing that one.

4. Has anyone been watching Breaking Pointe on the CW? It's a reality show about dancers in the Salt Lake City ballet company, and there's so much drama! And you know I love ballet, so I have to watch it and tell everyone about it. :)

5. I've got more revisions planned for this weekend, so I'm going to be staying inside in the air conditioning. Not so much fun, but definitely necessary!

Happy Friday, everyone! Anyone have any fun weekend plans?

  3. Call Me Maybe! We like that one around here! lol Good luck with revisions! They're time consuming and suck the life out of you, but worth it in the end! :D

  4. I do a much better job of finding typos when I read with the purpose of seeking them out. If I'm thinking about anything else, I miss them. This makes for a very long edit, though.

  6. I love BREAKING POINTE! But then, I love anything ballet-related even though I've never been a dancer. As for Call Me Maybe, I'm heading on over to iTunes right now to make a little purchase. :)

My fun plans this weekend are going to a friend's house for a barbecue. By far my favorite thing about summer. :)

  10. Oh, revisions are so much more fun than first drafts. Right now I want to bang my characters' heads together and tell them to figure out what they want!

This weekend, my sister's family is traveling halfway across the country to stay with us for a week. We haven't seen them in a year, and my daughters can't wait to greet their cousins!

  11. Added Breaking Pointe to my to-watch list! No plans here, just browsing interior design blogs and watching the second half of the last season of Sex and the City. It's pretty girly up in here this week. Also checking out iPhone covers since I finally upgraded my phone, eek!

Good luck with revisions. Continue to kick those typos to the kerb/curb.
